MIXED MEDIA COLLAGE ARTIST
Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Miroslava immigrated to the U.S. with her parents to escape communism. Through most of her childhood, money was precious, so when toys were scarce, she learned to make cardboard boxes into doll beds and imagine tree trunks as houses for tiny people, creating miniature gardens from twigs, leaves, and flowers.
Today, that childhood instinct for creative play and re-imagining everyday materials drives her artistic practice. Working from her studio in Salt Lake City, Utah, Miroslava creates intricate, layered, and surreal mixed-media artworks. By combining hand-cut paper, watercolor, pen and ink, and acrylic, she transforms found elements into quirky, highly textured visual narratives rich with color.
